PAJERO WINS AUSTRALIAN '4X4 OF THE YEAR' AWARD

The all new, Mitsubishi NS Pajero, has been awarded the prestigious 4x4 Australia
magazine's '4x4 Of The Year Award' for 2007. To win the prestigious award, the high technology Pajero beat seven other finalists.

The NS Pajero's combination of common rail direct injection diesel engine, proven INVECS II transmissions and the exclusive all terrain vehicle control system, MATT, (including Rear Diff Lock, Stability Control, Traction Control and ABS) shone through and was praised by 4x4 Australia.

To decide the vehicle worthy of such an accolade, 4x4 Australia magazine tested all seven finalists on more than 3,500kms of varied terrain in NSW. Surfaces included sealed and unsealed roads, sand dunes, slippery climbs and outback tracks.

'The Mitsubishi Pajero Common Rail DID performs on dirt roads, bitumen and its capabilities are not even stretched when taken through its paces off-road,' said 4x4 Australia Magazine editor Dean Mellor.

'The Pajero is always a strong contender in the 4x4 of the Year awards and the Pajero Common Rail DID is a natural evolution of the preceding model with styling changes but, more importantly, significant mechanical changes.' Mellor went on to say.

The new NS Pajero, developed in the harsh environment of international rallying, has built into it, much of the technology that has seen Mitsubishi win an unprecedented 11 Dakar events. This year Mitsubishi will endeavour to make it 12 wins using the all new MP13 which debuted recently at the UAE Desert Challenge where Pajero's finished 1st and 2nd. The new look, new fuel-efficient engines and Mitsubishi's acclaimed All-Terrain Technology is what sets Pajero apart from its competitors.
